The award-winning Northern Rivers Rail Trail takes you through lush rainforests, working farms, historic bridges, abandoned rail tunnels, charming villages, and local artist studios. There’s something for everyone to explore.
Once complete, the trail will stretch over 132km, connecting Murwillumbah to Byron Bay and all the way through to Casino.Stage 1, Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek, and Stage 2, Lismore to Casino, are now open.

Wind through hinterland rainforest, past working farms, and up into the national parks surrounding the Tweed Valley. These loops pair well with the Rail Trail for riders wanting a longer day out or a mix of terrain.
